What ASNIPP does

Screenshots

Select any area or grab the whole screen with Win+Shift+S or PrintScreen. Every capture is saved to your Pictures folder and copied to the clipboard.

Screen recording with audio

Record a selected area with system audio and your microphone together, with pause, restart and live level meters. A 3-second countdown starts before recording, and ASNIPP never appears in your recording.

Live screen drawing

Draw with a pen, highlighter, arrows, shapes and a laser pointer on top of anything using Ctrl+Alt+D. It works while recording, so your drawing goes into the video.

OCR — extract text from a screenshot

Pull the text out of an image with one click using the text recognition built into Windows, then copy it straight away.

Pin to screen

Float any screenshot above your windows, resize it with the mouse wheel and keep it as a reference.

Built-in editor

Annotate, crop, pixelate, trim, join, change speed, reverse, rotate and flip, then export to MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV or GIF.

Colour picker, pixel ruler and library

Press Ctrl+Alt+P for a colour picker and pixel ruler, and Ctrl+Alt+L to browse everything you captured.

How to record your screen with sound

  1. Download and extract the ASNIPP zip, then run ASNIPP.exe. The bar appears at the top and the app lives in the system tray.
  2. Turn on system audio and/or the microphone, then click Video or press Win+Shift+R.
  3. Drag to select the area. After the 3-second countdown, recording starts. Press Ctrl+Alt+D to draw on screen while you record.
  4. Press Win+Shift+R again to stop, then click the preview to trim, edit and export.

On first launch ASNIPP takes over Win+Shift+S, Win+Shift+R and PrintScreen. Give them back any time from the tray icon menu.

Private

Nothing is logged or sent anywhere. It only watches the S and R keys while Win and Shift are held, to open the capture bar.

Lightweight

A portable app that starts silently in the tray, only if you enable Start with Windows.
